I got my baby girl today. She was kinda hissy when I took the container out of the box. I opened it and set it in the enclosure for her to slither into her enclosure herself. I left her alone and she made a burrow (I checked the temps and had to lift the hide) and there was a burrow. She seems happy. She's very active and I did not notice any mites. Overall, I am happy with my purchase. She is very active and seems healthy. I will def buy more snakes from here later. Thank you Snakes at Sunset.

I decided to hold back my review for 6 weeks. While I am familiar with snakes in the wild, I have not kept snakes in captivity. I wanted to ensure that my review was based in fact. Based on other's experiences with snake purchases, I just can't imagine much of a better scenario than purchasing Snake Plissken from Snakes at Sunset. Plissken is healthy and an eager eater. He is more active when I am near to the point where he almost seems socialized. He is a joy to provide a habitat for. My only complaint is that despite asking his age multiple times, it was never provided. However, purchasing a scale and weighing him and the food has proved useful. I'd give 4.5 stars if I had the option, but my only choice was 4 or 5. So I chose 5 because Plissken is healthy and seems as happy as a snake can be. My plan is likely to purchase a second snake in the future and Snakes at Sunset will be my first choice to do so.

Both of my Western Hognose I purchased from here are healthy and I can tell well fed. One was a baby and my most recent one a juvenile. These guys are so inquisitive and cool. Two thumbs up for snakesatsunset for their healthy reptiles and their promptness of delivery!

I ordered a male Western Hognose which shipped on time. He arrived well packaged and looks very healthy. I put him in his tub to acclimatize to his new home. The next day he was very active, so I decided to try to feed him a f/t pinky. He would not take it from tongs, so I left it on a small plate and covered his tub. Within 10 minutes he was munching down and ate no problem. Happy with my purchase!

Waited 12 days before writing a review. Ordered my male on a Thursday(Florida) and he was here Friday(Washington State) morning at 10am. He arrived in great health with a quickly developing personality. He adapted quickly to his new enclosure and was making it his own in no time(3 Days). He is currently in a 10 g enclosure with shredded aspen substrate, a water bowl on the left, heating pad on the right, his hide sitting directly over his heat pad, and some plastic/washable leafs for shade and cover. He ate his first frozen/thawed pinky after about 5 days of acclimation. There were some troubles getting him to eat it plain so I had to add a drop of tuna juice to the pinky once thawed and he downed it no problem. Now he will get 2 pinkies every 3-4 days until I feel like he is ready for a fuzzy and I will figure out that feeding schedule when the time comes. You wouldn’t expect it but he actually enjoys a little 10-15 minute handling session per day. I try not to handle for 1-2 days after feeding so he can properly digest his meal and I don’t accidentally hurt him. His personality is hilarious. He has a full blown attitude inside of his enclosure but once I get him out he is so relaxed and friendly. This is my first snake and I could not be more happy with how things are going. Snakes At Sunset is doing things the right way and you can tell by the health and personalities of their animals. Thank you for flawless first experience. Anyone reading this on the fence about ordering, GO FOR IT!

I got a female hognose because I was told they were more docile and not so picky eating. She is great! Very friendly, hyper, strong, and healthy! She ate hours after I received her. Could not be happier

Sydney, my new baby hog nose, is so sweet! I put him in his little 5 gallon tank with aspen and newspaper underneath. He ate like a champ yesterday morning! Downed his pinky, butt first, like he’s been doing it for years! Very sweet and docile in my hand, easy to pick up. Burrowing just like a hoggie. I’m totally thrilled with the whole transaction with Snakes at Sunset. Was just a little over 12 hours from when I ordered to when he was delivered. Couldn’t ask for more than that! Will recommend to all my snake and reptile friends! Thanks for a great experience!

I waited quite a while to review. It has been over a month. I wanted him to be settled and the purchase excitement to ware off, but my hognose is doing great. He came on a Thursday, the day the animals normally eat. He started eating that day (frozen thawed pinkies), I didn't want to make him wait another week to eat. He has been eating for me consistently. Took to handling very well. Was hissing at first, and false striking. Now is calmer than my cat. Active, digging and exploring the cage for a few hours a day. No signs of mites or birth defects. The staff really seem to care about the animals they sell, will not ship when weather may negatively impact animal and answered my questions via email if I reached out to them. I should have gotten a snake long ago, and would Absolutely recommend snakes at sunset to anyone looking for a pet.
